Student Leadership
The Student Leadership Program at NHTI has been created to increase leadership skills, development opportunities and ways to network for students and alumni.
Student Leadership Program Goals:
- Increase student retention by providing more opportunities for students to connect.
- Increase the marketability of our students for employment and transferability.
- Increase the amount of training student leaders receive on campus to become resident assistants, club officers, captains of athletic teams, orientation leaders, peer mentors, campus tour guides and various other valued student leaders on campus and in the community.
- Create assessment and evaluation tools as success indicators for the student leadership program.
- Eventually offer course credit for the completion of the Student Leadership Program.
Student Leadership Outing '07 a Great Success!
On Thursday August 23rd ten NHTI students traveled to New Hampton School to participate in a Student Leadership Outing. This outing complete with icebreakers, a ropes course, workshops and teambuilding was the kickoff to many great student leadership initiatives throughout the year. The ten students represented many clubs, organizations, academic departments, athletics, residence life, orientation leaders and interns. The Outing was developed, supported and sponsored by the Student Leadership Team, a group of faculty, staff and students working to bring more opportunities for student development.
