NHTI Avian Flu Preparedness
NHTI, Concord's Community College has a "Critical Incident Response Team" which is actively working to produce a draft "NHTI Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Plan." This plan will be linked to this page, and available in hard copy through the Health Services Office, as soon as the draft plan has been approved by the team. The plan's purpose is to help the campus and college community prepare and respond to a pandemic influenza outbreak. The plan will describe specific actions to be taken by College personnel in the event of an outbreak, organized by "three phases of alertness." The plan will encompass the various aspects of communication and education, preparedness, emergency response, and the recovery and maintenance efforts to take place in the event of an influenza pandemic.
The plan will also reference the role of the NHTI campus as a designated "Point of Distribution," under the Capital Area Public Health Network, as a site to administer vaccine or dispense antibiotics for residents of Concord, Boscawen, Canterbury and Loudon, NH.
