NHTI Campus Safety Services
Campus Safety Department Services
The Campus Safety Staff at NHTI are committed to the safety and well being of all members of the campus community.
The Campus Safety Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Officers conduct both vehicle and foot patrols on campus and are charged with the enforcement of federal, state and local laws as well as NHTI policies and regulations. Although Campus Safety officers do not make arrests, the Campus Safety Department maintains a working relationship with the New Hampshire State Police and Concord Police Department.
Students, faculty, staff, and guests of NHTI are encouraged to report criminal activity and emergencies to the Campus Safety Office, located in the Business Office on the northwest side of campus. To contact Campus Safety, dial (603) 224-3287. Dialing “9” first is required when calling from any office phone on campus. Also, direct access can be made by picking up the phone in any elevator on campus or through the Code Blue Phones.
Students are responsible for reading and adhering to all policies of NHTI as they are detailed in the Student Handbook.
Remember, a safe campus environment can only be achieved through the cooperation of the entire college community which includes students, faculty, staff and visitors. For further information about Campus Safety, website http://www.nhti.edu/campuslife/campussafety.htm.
Calling 911
- via telephone
Students and employees should be aware when making an emergency call from an office telephone (i.e., those with a “271” number), dialing “9” is required before dialing “911.” When calling from a pay telephone, only the “911” is required.
Whenever an emergency call is made to 911, students and employees should also notify Campus Safety that emergency assistance has been requested and that emergency personnel are en route to a particular location. - via 911 call boxes
Special 911 Call Boxes are located near the elevator in Little, MacRury, and Sweeney Halls, as well as in Farnum Hall (near the receptionist), and on both floors of the Wellness Center (by the Gym door on the first floor, and on the second floor next to the weight room). Calls are made directly to 911 emergency services by pressing the indicated button on the box. Note that calls made from these boxes are NOT directed to Campus Safety, therefore, students and employees should also notify Campus Safety that emergency assistance has been requested and that emergency personnel are en route to a particular location.
