Gambling by individuals is not permitted on campus. Casino or other gaming events are permitted in designated areas, where allowed by State law, as part of an event scheduled by the office of the Vice President of Student Affairs.
Fire Prevention
All students are asked to exercise every caution and care in the prevention of fires. Fire drills will be held from time to time, and students, faculty and staff should become familiar with procedures for evacuating all campus buildings. In the residence halls all waste baskets must be made of metal or other nonflammable material.
A. To prevent fires:
- Smoking is permitted only in Gazebos constructed for that purpose.
- All electrical equipment will be UL approved and carefully checked to make sure there are no frayed cords or overloaded sockets.
- Cleaning fluids and lighter fluids should be properly stored in a safe place.
- Do not leave anything in the corridors that would obstruct the passageway in the event of a fire or fire drill.
- All fire doors must remain closed 24 hours a day. No doorways should be propped open in any NHTI building.
- Immediately pull a fire alarm box. Fire alarm boxes are located near each exit area on all floors.

- Secure all machinery, turn off power and gas.
- Leave the room and proceed promptly but calmly out of the hall via the nearest exit (exits are at each end of the hallway).
- Instructors should, when safely possible, evacuate students from the classroom and close windows and door.
- Do not use elevators.
- Once outside building move 50 feet away from doorway.
- Anyone with a mobility impairment should go to the landings located in the second or third floor stairwells, out of the way of others’ access to stairs.
D. When a Fire is Discovered in a Residence Hall:

Restraining Orders
Employees or students who have received temporary or permanent restraining orders against specific individuals should provide Campus Safety with a copy of the order, a photograph of the individual, and other identifying information about the individual (e.g., type of car).
If both parties are employees or students at NHTI, efforts will be made to modify work or class schedules so that the parties can avoid each other.
Campus Safety will speak to both parties to explain how the order will be enforced while they both attend classes or continue to work on campus.
Violations of the order should be reported to Campus Safety, who will request immediate assistance from the NH State Police.
