Dental Hygiene and Assisting
Professional Development
REGULATORY UPDATE New Hampshire dentists and dental assistants need to be aware of rules enacted by the Board of Dental Examiners in regard to expanded duties for dental assistants. Current law requires dental assistants (who are not Graduates from an ADA Accredited Program) to have worked in a dental office for 400 hours and have completed the board approved course (Preliminary Inspection of the Oral Cavity) before they are eligible to enroll in an expanded duty course, including dental x-rays, coronal polishing, sealants, temporary crown and bridge, whitening, expanded orthodontic duties, and monitoring nitrous oxide. To meet this need we have scheduled the next courses for Saturday, January 21 or Friday, February 3, 2012. |
NHTI is firmly committed to developing and delivering continuing education programs that will enhance the professional lives of Dental Assistants and Dental Hygienists, offering:
