Transfer Options

The Transfer Office at NHTI is here to help you make a smooth transition to a four year college. Meeting with a transfer counselor provides you information about:

  • Applying to four-year colleges and universities and what the application process involves
  • Identifying and evaluating schools and majors that fit your interests and needs
  • Transcripts
  • Transferring credits
Additionally, the NHTI Transfer Office arranges for college representatives from 4-year colleges to come to campus several times a semester to talk with students about transfer options.

This assistance is FREE for NHTI students and alumni.

Entrance requirements at four-year colleges vary widely. College catalogs usually indicate this information, including the minimum cumulative averages required for transfer. Students planning to transfer to a particular college or university are urged to consult the Transfer Office of that college or university before selecting courses at NHTI. Students wishing to transfer from NHTI to other institutions should have their programs continually appraised by faculty advisors, Transfer Office and other appropriate staff, and the institution they wish to attend. NHTI recommends that transfer planning begin during the student's first semester in college. Requests for transcripts of grades to be sent to senior colleges are made to the Registrars Office.

NHTI has formal articulation agreements with a number of 4-year colleges throughout New England. It is your responsibility to inquire about these agreements and to plan your NHTI program of study accordingly.

Disclaimer

Transfer policies vary from institution to institution. The receiving college or university has sole discretion in determining the credits to be awarded. Students should not make assumptions about which credits are transferable even if an articulation agreement exists. Whether a student is transferring into or out of NHTI, it is the student’s responsibility to contact the appropriate person at the receiving institution in order to discuss their policy, learn what documentation is required and, finally, to determine and confirm transferable credit.
