Many students choose to continue their studies by transferring to a 4-year college or university. NHTI has many resources available to assist you with this process.
Transfer Office
The Transfer Office at NHTI is here to help you make a smooth transition to a 4-year school. Meeting with a transfer counselor provides you information about:
- Applying to 4-year school and what the application process involves
- Identifying and evaluating schools and majors that fit your interests and needs
- Transcripts
- Transferring credits
Additionally, the Transfer Office arranges for representatives from 4-year schools to come to campus several times a semester to talk with students about transfer options. This assistance is free for NHTI students and alumni.
The Transfer Office is run by David Elderkin, Director of Career Counseling and Placement, and is located in the Student Center room 227. Hours are 8 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday.
Department Heads
Your department head can be of great assistance in planning your transfer to a 4-year school. View a list of department heads at
www.nhti.edu/orientation/depthead.html.
Articulation Agreements
NHTI has formal articulation agreements with a number of 4-year colleges and universities throughout New England. These agreements provide for a smooth transfer process, usually in a particular area of study. View a summary of articulation agreements at www.nhti.edu/academics/articulation-agreement.html.
NH Transfer
NH Transfer is an online database that will show you exactly which courses can be transferred from NHTI (and the six other CCSNH community colleges) to selected 4-year schools in New Hampshire. Participating schools include UNH, Plymouth State, Keene State, Granite State College, SNHU, and Franklin Pierce University. Access the database at www.nhtransfer.org.
Transferring Credits
While all of the above resources may be useful, students should be aware that the acceptance of transferred credits is ultimately the decision of the receiving institution. Students wishing to transfer to another school should also contact a transfer coordinator at that institution to discuss transfer of credits from NHTI.
Transcript Requests
Requests for official copies of your NHTI transcript can be made through the Registrar's Office.
