Department Head Liaquat Khan
Professor Khan joined the faculty as AET Department Head in 2002. He has worked professionally in Washington D.C. - Maryland area, and overseas. His academic experience includes teaching undergraduate Design Studios, Contract Documents, AutoCAD, Post Occupancy Evaluation - a graduate course, and designing 2-year Diploma programs for the Architecture Department, College of Architecture & Planning at KFU. Prof. Khan's areas of interest are learning models and architecture education, technology, urban design, and the use of computers in architecture education. Khan holds a Bachelor's of Architecture from the University of Engineering & Technology - Lahore, and a Master's of Architecture from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.
Professor David Schatzle joined NHTI in the Fall of 2005. He earned is BS in Design of the Environment in 1986 and went on to study at Harvard School of Design. He completed his Master's thesis under the direction of Daniel Libeskind, a leading world architect now working on the new World Trade Center design. In addition to designing uniquely shaped towers and studying the masterful works of DaVinci, David specializes in green building. He is a certified "Green Architect" through the United States Green Building Council and has been involved with numerous green building projects around the Greater Boston area. One of his most noted is the Cambridge City Hall building which serves as a model for sustainable building design. As Lead Architect, David assembled an energy assessment team to design the energy system for this building using geothermal heating and cooling and solar power technologies. Other projects include the Doyle Conservation Center at Crane's Beach and his noble promotion of affordable mutli-family housing in the Boston area.
Alicia Dunstan is a Civil Engineer, specializing in environmental and transportation projects. She has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire. She is presently an adjunct professor in the Architectural Engineering Technology Department
Karen Schacht graduated from the NHTI with her Associates Degree in Architectural Engineering Technology and from the Boston Architectural Center with her first professional degree in architecture. She has been practicing architecture first as an intern architect and then as a graduate architect for over 18 years in two distinctly different firm environments. Her first five years of practice were in a large multi-disciplinary firm of architects, land planners and landscape architects followed by her current position with the design oriented Architecture and Planning firm of C.N. Carley Associates in Concord, New Hampshire where she is a senior designer and project architect for a multitude of project types. Her work at C.N. Carley Associates can be viewed at the company web site, cncarley.com In addition to her skills as an architect she has strong graphic presentation and graphic design skills (she designed the company's web site), custom furniture design and guides both the interior and lighting design for the firms projects. John Gorham is a registered Civil Engineer and has been working as a consultant on environmental, structural and transportation projects for the past 14 years. He has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire and a Masters of Science in Geo-Environmental Engineering from the University of Massachusetts. He is presently an adjunct professor in the Architectural Engineering Technology Department.
Magnus McLetchie is a Registered Architect and was a member of the faculty from 1976 until Spring 2005 when he retired, he continues to teach at NHTI as and adjunct professor. He received an associate of science degree from Wentworth Institute and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Colorado. He teaches courses in Environmental Systems, Construction Management, Construction Materials, and Architectural Design Studio.
Ron Natoli is a licensed Land Surveyor with over 30 years of technical and professional experience in land/engineering surveying, forestry, and environmental consulting. He is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a major in Forestry. Ron has been providing consulting services in the areas of Land Surveying and forestry since 1971. Previously he taught surveying course at Lakes Region Community College.
Gary Rosen is the President of Electric Pelican Ink CADD Consulting Services, based in Salisbury, NH. He has been working in the civil engineering/survey industry for over 23 years, and using the Softdesk/Autodesk civil applications for 15. He is the author of "Inside Softdesk Civil", "Autodesk Land Desktop in a Nutshell, the Movie", and "Autodesk Civil Design in a Nutshell, the Movie". Gary is an Autodesk Authorized Consultant and a popular speaker at Autodesk University. | |
