Hotel Administration Certificate Program
Curriculum for students entering program in 2008-09.
The Hotel Administration program will prepare students for an entry-level position in the hotel industry. The student will explore the various types of positions and responsibilities as they relate to the size and needs of a Deluxe to Tourist Hotel, Inn, Lodge or Resort in relation to front office operations. Classroom instruction is completed by hands-on industry software training. Students will have the opportunity to take the American Hotel and Motel Association certification tests in Rooms Division and/or Marketing/Sales Specialist. NOTE: Students matriculating into the Hotel Administration certificate program are expected to possess a working knowledge of software applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software, or to have successfully completed NHTI’s IT 102 (PC Applications) or comparable course.
Students must maintain Internet access, including a professional working e-mail address, throughout their participation in these programs.
